You can do everything you think you can, but never more.
Jordan Menard put that on top of Jason Applebaum’s post a couple weeks ago, and it's probably the first time I've seen somebody put the thing I've been living by into one sentence…

Right now I have just re-focused on two major projects..
One rocketship brand (to be announced soon…)
And One rocketship agency (announced this last week, check it out here)
All at once. Normally you get to be in just one of those at a time.
I’m loving it. But it is a lot to focus on.
Because just for one moment, if you think back to how you grew up:
You likely went to school to study one thing
You probably had 1-2 core groups of friends (if you did travel sports)
You maybe had one core interest you wanted to study
Then you get to college and you're like, “But I'm great at math AND I'm great at writing AND I want to have a job doing XYZ. I’ve got the sport friends I play with and this whole other group of really smart friends to study with.”
And you start realizing people are so dynamic.
The interests change depending on the season they want to be in.
You realize YOU can be as dynamic as you want, any time you want.
Which is the whole reason this newsletter is called what it's called.
We're all capable of so much more than we think we are. And now is the perfect time cause we have so many tools at our fingertips to either validate that or just remind you..you can do other things, virtually whenever you feel like it.
That's where I think this next chapter of people sticking with companies for one tired career path is going to be very, very uncommon. And if it is common, their ability to have the freedom to do other things might just be as important.
And I'll be honest, the ability to work longer and do more in a day is so much easier and more accessible than it's ever been.
So you can do everything you want to do. You don't have to be limited to just doing the one thing you've been doing.
But…Be honest about what it is that you're capable of actually doing. There is still such a thing as doing too much, and that’s for you to decide.
See you next week.
